What is Launchpad? Launchpad is a startup competition for early stage startups or product ideas that are less than 24 months old. Submitted entries are judged by a panel of Gigaom editors and 5-10 shortlisted companies are invited to the event to pitch their product or idea on stage to a panel of judges that are VCs who rate the pitch on a scale of 1-10 and the live audience who vote via SMS. The startup(s) with the highest score is declared the winner(s) – judges’ choice and people’s choice.
Why should you enter? All shortlisted startups gain exposure in the tech industry as our editors write about the shortlisted startups. Our readership includes many influential VCs and angel investors that you would want to get in front of. You can also promote the fact that you were a shortlisted company, for which we provide a badge to add to your website. The event also attracts a lot of press who you may want to speak with.
Who should enter? If your startup or product idea is less than 24 months old, then this is the competition for you. We welcome submission focused directly around the area of core technologies in mobile. Preference is given to products that will be launched at the conference. It does not matter whether you have received funding or not. The idea just needs to be considered as venture-fundable. You must also be able to send a representative to attend the competition in person. A pass is provided to you to attend the whole conference.
When is the submission deadline? The closing date for entries is April 30, 2014 at 11:59 PM PT. All entries will be reviewed, but due to the volume of submissions, we advise you to submit your nomination as early as possible. All information submitted in the nomination will be kept confidential, unless your company is selected for the Structure 2014 Launchpad when you will be announced to the world on May 20, 2014.
When entering please fill out all the fields in the form below and be as detailed as possible. Good luck!
